Accessibility statement

Our commitment

We want this site to work for everybody, including people using screen readers, keyboard navigation or magnification. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.

What we've actually built in

These aren't aspirations. They were checked on this site before it launched:

• Text and interface colors were measured against their backgrounds and meet the WCAG AA contrast ratios.
• Every page can be operated by keyboard alone, and focused elements show a visible outline.
• A skip link at the top of each page jumps straight to the main content.
• Pages use real landmarks and a single, correctly ordered heading structure.
• Every meaningful image has descriptive alternative text.
• Animation and smooth scrolling switch off for visitors whose system asks for reduced motion.
• The layout works down to 320px wide without horizontal scrolling.
• Form fields have real labels attached to them, not placeholder text standing in for labels.

Where we know we fall short

Content we embed from other companies, such as a contact form or a map, is built by them and we don't control its markup. We test what we embed and we'll replace anything that can't be operated by keyboard.

We haven't hidden behind an accessibility overlay widget. Those don't make a site conformant and we would rather build the site correctly.
